Founders
José Antonio Ortega and Silvio Loaisiga built Loaisiga from the field up, joining tobacco knowledge, agriculture, production, and commercial discipline under one company in Estelí.
Silvio Loaisiga
Silvio Loaisiga was born and raised in Estelí. He entered the tobacco industry at 18 while studying Computer Systems Engineering, later completing a degree in Business Administration. His career moved from process control and inventory management to operations and field production. That combination — technical, administrative, agricultural — is the foundation Loaisiga runs on today.
José Antonio Ortega
José Antonio Ortega is an agricultural engineer from Managua who arrived in Estelí in 2005 and found tobacco. With the support of the late Don Gilberto Olivas Sr., he planted his first crops. In 2012 he founded an agrochemicals company that became a market leader across Central America and the Caribbean, which he later sold to a U.S.-listed multinational. He brought that same commercial discipline into Loaisiga.
