The old folks say that on the roads of Nicaragua, when night falls and a traveller walks alone, the Cadejo appears.
No one knows where it comes from. They only know there are two.
But some swear to something more: the Cadejo does not only guard the roads. It also roams the tobacco fields.

On the nights of Jalapa and Estelí, while the leaves rest under the moon, it walks between the rows. It protects the harvest, watches over the farmer who rises before dawn and blesses the land that gives the finest tobacco in the world.

From the dark edge of the field, it keeps watch. An imposing force that guards the secret of the leaf and tests anyone who dares to come near without respect.
